'We're normal guys': J.D. Vance begs reporters not to label Trump ticket as 'weird'

Republican vice presidential nominee J.D. Vance implored a group of reporters not to call him and former President Donald Trump "weird," arguing they were "normal guys."

At an event in Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Vance was asked how Republicans would stop voters from referring to them as "weird" after Democratic vice presidential candidate Tim Walz made the meme go viral.

"They're going to attack us on something, and they're going to criticize us on something," Vance replied. "I think that's what makes Donald Trump and I good candidates and a good team is that we're normal guys who want to make this country great again, and we want Americans to be able to live the American dream."

"I really do think that whatever Tim Walz calls me, I mean, talk about, talk about weird with Tim Walz," he added.

Vance faulted Walz for not kissing his wife at a recent rally.

"That's pretty weird," he said. "These people have no leg to stand on, and I think what's going to happen is they're going to try to call us weird for the next 93 days, and what's going to happen is the American people aren't going to care about it because they don't care about some tagline written by a social media intern."
