Jamie Lee Curtis Gets in on Pointed Pumps Trend at ‘Borderlands’ Fan Event

Stars like Jamie Lee Curtis, Kevin Hart and Jack Black attended the event to support the film, which hits theaters on Aug. 9.

Jamie Lee Curtis made an appearance at the “Borderlands” Special Los Angeles Fan Event at TCL Chinese Theatre in black leather pointed pumps and a red two-piece power suit.

Attending the event alongside co-stars Kevin Hart, Cate Blanchett, Gina Gershon and more, the “Freaky Friday” actress chose a simple pair of black pointed pumps for the occasion. Crafted in patent leather material, the shoes were highlighted by a sharp, triangular toe box and a sleek all-black colorway. While the back of her pumps couldn’t be fully seen, it’s likely the set was completed by a slender stiletto heel ranging between 3-to-4 inches in height.

For the rest of her ensemble, Curtis donned a matching red two-piece blazer and pants combo, which she paired with tinted red sunglasses.

While the style has experienced some updates over the decades, pointed-toe pumps are a classic model that blends together elements of vintage and modern-day fashion. Many brands such as Stuart Weitzman, Chanel and Gucci offer a wide range of pointed-pumps throughout the season, and many celebrities including: Selena Gomez, Ariana Grande, Princess Beatrice, Doja Cat and plenty of others have been spotted wearing the style over the course of 2024 thus far.

Cate Blanchett also got in on the pointed-pump action at the event in a pair of the Spike Pump Zip shoes from English fashion designer Paul Andrew. The shoes were constructed in calfskin and featured a 3.95-inch narrow stiletto heel alongside a silver metal zipper trim along the insole. Blanchett paired her pumps with a halter top from Hodakova made of 102 overlapping silver spoons, and straight-leg black pants.

Kevin Hart was also spotted at the event in a pair of all-white sneakers, a polo t-shirt, dark blue jeans and black sunglasses. Jack Black also hit the red carpet wearing a colorful shirt and matching purple pants, paired with yellow PUMA Men’s Suede Love Marathon Sneakes.

“Borderlands” centers around the story of Pandora, an infamous bounty hunter that returns to her home planet and forms an unexpected alliance with a ragtag team of misfits. Together, they battle alien monsters and dangerous bandits to uncover one of Pandora’s most explosive secrets. The film was directed by Eli Roth and will be released in theaters on Aug. 9.
