The Clot x Adidas Gazelle Indoor Sneaker Features an Espadrille Stitched Upper With Blue Glass Beads

Edison Chen brings more color to his second Gazelle collaboration.

Edison Chen and Adidas are returning for their second Gazelle collaboration, this time with more color.

The second Clot x Adidas Gazelle by Edison Chen comes peppered with blue accents, including a multi-tone Three Stripes motif made out of glass beads. Contrast stitching in dark blue attaches the upper to its sole, while lighter blue thread is used for the mustache and tongue. An even fainter blue brings the last pop of color through outlines on the laces.

Like its predecessor, which released in June, the Clot Gazelle’s upper is reimagined in textile made using traditional espadrille stitching machines with suede overlays. Both the outsole and insole are molded for a boost in comfort, while the beads are embroidered by hand.

Chen, his label/boutique Clot and Adidas have gotten to work quickly after he ended relationship with Nike after nearly 20 years of collaborations. The new partnership launched with a Superstar incorporating elements of smarter footwear with leather welts, lace tassels, and a ripple outsole. The iconic shell toe also features hand-stitched ridges, with the entirety of the upper made out of a more premium leather. So far, the sneaker has released in two classic Adidas colorways: black and white, as well as well white and black.

An even dressier version of the Clot Superstar has also surfaced in patent leather without the aggressive sole unit, but so far no release details have been confirmed.

The Adidas Clot Gazelle by Edison Chen in “Linen Khaki/Light Blue” will release August 23 through the Confirmed app and select third-party retailers. Pricing is set at $160. An assortment of shorts, polos and track tops all crocheted will also drop alongside the sneakers.
