Jenna Dewan Breastfeeds Baby Rhiannon While Getting Fake Blood Drawn on Her Face in an Epic On-Set Photo
Going back to work after having a baby isn’t easy, but Jenna Dewan is handling it like one tough mother. She brought her newborn baby Rhiannon on-set with her to film The Rookie, and the picture of her breastfeeding while getting fake blood drawn on her forehead is nothing short of epic.
“Back to work… with a +1 ????” the Step Up alum captioned the post on Instagram. In the first selfie, she’s all dressed up in her character’s firefighter uniform, with special effects makeup drawn on to make it look like she has a forehead and neck injury.
Other photos show memorable moments from her first time back to work. Like in one, where she is dressed in a white t-shirt and holding her baby on her chest, who looks all cozy in light green pajamas. There is a big bouquet of yellow-and-white roses, a present, and a huge, oversized teddy bear. Such a warm welcome! In another picture, Dewan shows off her baby girl, who is yawning in her mom’s arms. Two women stand close by just smiling at the little one, and it’s adorable.
Slide five shows the amazing breastfeeding photo. It was taken in a trailer where Dewan was in uniform and sitting still on a makeup chair. Dewan closes her eyes and cradles her baby as the makeup artist applies fake blood on her face. Her shirt is pulled up so the 1-month-old can breastfeed, and it’s the perfect portrait of a mom’s strength and beauty.
“Never not glowing. You’re an absolute light and inspiration. Go mama go! ????” one person commented. Another wrote, “Now that’s a hard working MAMA! ????????”
Someone else suggested, “Oh I’ve been there! Sleep during lunch, mama! ❤️❤️❤️”
The professional dancer shares daughter Rhiannon and son Callum, 4, with fiancé Steve Kazee, and is mom to daughter Everly, 11, with ex Channing Tatum. Earlier this week, she opened up about her struggles with mastitis with her baby girl. She posted a picture of her trying different remedies, including cold compresses, a heating pad, Epsom salts, thinly sliced potatoes, cabbage, Castor oil, and antibiotics and ibuprofen.
“Now that I’ve survived mastitis I can confidently say… mamas I FEEL you. The amount of times I googled ‘will I ever feel better’ ????????????,” Dewan captioned the post. She was thankful for everyone’s suggestions, adding, “What an experience to show how powerful and supportive we can all be for each other.”
