Kyle Police arrest 3 Austin men related to car burglaries

The Kyle Police Department said it arrested three Austin men Tuesday in connection with the burglary of multiple vehicles.

AUSTIN (KXAN) — The Kyle Police Department said it arrested three Austin men Tuesday in connection with the burglary of multiple vehicles.

KPD said officers responded to a call shortly before 4 a.m. near the 100 block of Bunton Creek Road.

According to police, officers found the vehicle connected with the suspects as they were leaving the scene, and during a police chase into Austin, the vehicle crashed into a light pole, where the suspects then abandoned the vehicle and ran away.

KPD said officers were able to detain three of the four suspects.

The suspects were identified as 27-year-old Carlos Moreno-Ramirez, 25-year-old Kevin Moreno-Ramirez and 31-year-old Edwin Escobar-Alvarez. Police said the men were all residents of Austin.

According to police, officers found two stolen handguns and narcotics inside the suspect vehicle.

KPD said the suspects face several charges, including:

  • burglary of a vehicle
  • engaging in organized criminal activity
  • theft of a firearm
  • evading arrest detention

Police said Escobar-Alvarez, who was the driver of the vehicle, was additionally charged with evading arrest detention with a vehicle and reckless driving.

KPD said charges for a fourth suspect remain pending.
