Drake Reveals His Song 'Too Good' is About Ex-Girlfriend Serena Williams

Drake is sharing some rare insight into his relationship with Serena Williams.

If you didn’t know, the 37-year-old entertainer and the 42-year-old tennis superstar dated back in 2015 and were spotted kissing at a sushi restaurant.

Drake recently dropped 100 gigabytes of unreleased music as well as behind-the-scenes footage and clips of him in the studio, and in one clip, Drake revealed to mom Sandi Graham that his song “Too Good” is about Serena.

Keep reading to find out more…“I get heavy on a couple joints, but this is more about me and Serena,” Drake told his mom about the inspiration behind the 2016 song, which featured Rihanna and was on his album Views.

“It’s funny because when I make songs about women, I also make songs for them. So, I know what kind of song to make,” Drake continued. “If I’m gonna talk about them, I’ll at least do them the justice of making them a song that they like. So, I know Serena very well and I know that she’ll hear it loud and clear, but she’ll also not hate me for it because it’s lighthearted.”

When his mom asked if Serena was “seeing someone else,” Drake responded, “I don’t know, mom.”

Serena got engaged to Alexis Ohanian in December 2016 and they married the following year. They now share two daughters.

Back in 2022, Alexis clapped back when Drake called him the Serena‘s “groupie.”
