RBI hikes UPI limit to Rs 5 lakh for tax payments, introduces delegated payments

RBI proposed raising the UPI transaction limit for tax payments to Rs 5 lakh to make high-value tax transactions smoother. This decision was made during the MPC meeting. RBI also plans to introduce delegated UPI payments and continuous cheque clearing in the Cheque Truncation System.
