GOP strategist warns Trump about potential 'backfire' of J.D. Vance's 'real creepy' move

Donald Trump's running mate, J.D. Vance, could have just hurt their presidential campaign with a move some on both sides of the aisle are calling "real creepy."

A CNN host early Thursday morning highlighted an "awkward moment" from the day before, when Vance "approached Kamala Harris' Air Force Two while his plane and her plane were both on the same Wisconsin tarmac."

Republican strategist Doug Heye pointed out that there are eight main states at play, so "this could happen again in any of those places anytime."

Heye, a former Republican National Committee communications director, then issued a warning to team Trump.

"I would warn the Trump campaign, even though yes, you defeated Hillary Clinton in 2016, history is replete with male candidates overstepping their bounds against female candidates."

He then added, "And the backfire that that can have, especially if you don't have a real plan or even if you do, it gets real creepy, real quick, if you make a mistake."
