What’s the latest buzz for the top recruits that haven’t found a home yet in the 2025 class?

A majority of the the top college football recruits in the 2025 class have found a home following the period of official visits this summer, with all of the top quarterbacks committed to a program already.

However, there still are a few key players who haven’t decided on their next destination heading into the fall, so let’s break down the recruitments for the top five uncommitted prospects in the 2025 class.

David Sanders Jr. | Offensive Lineman

A consensus top-five recruit in the 2025 class, five-star offensive tackle David Sanders Jr. is the top uncommitted prospect remaining on the board.

Now, Sanders isn’t expected to be without a destination much longer, as the five-star has set a commitment date for next Saturday, August 17th.

A native of Charlotte, North Carolina, the 6’6’’, 290-pound Sanders has set a list of his top four schools: Georgia, Tennessee, Ohio State, and Nebraska.

That group has been set for a while even though the offensive tackle’s recruitment has been one of the busiest in the cycle, as Sanders received 40 scholarship offers, while taking recent visits to each of his finalists, as well as Clemson and Alabama.

Back in March, Sanders had a final six that included Clemson, Alabama, and South Carolina.

But, Nebraska came into the mix late, and has been a part of the offensive tackle’s top four following a visit back in May.

Heading into the final week, it appears that Tennessee and Ohio State are among the leaders of the pack, but this one could be a tightly-contested battle till the end.

Sanders’s skillset is spearheaded by his size and athleticism, as he has very nimble feet for his frame, with the capability to put on more weight in college. Still, his strength stands out at the moment, especially in pass protection.

As is the case with a majority of linemen, he’ll likely need some refining upon entering the college ranks, but the potential is sky-high for the offensive tackle.

Elijah Griffin | Defensive Lineman

The top defensive lineman in the 2025 class, five-star Elijah Griffin has narrowed his recruitment down to three schools: Miami, Georgia, and USC.

A native of Savannah, Georgia, there’s the evident hometown draw for the Bulldogs, but Griffin did take official visits to both Miami and USC this summer, rounding out his top schools.

Standing at 6’4’’, 285 pounds, there’s a lot of potential with Griffin, who has the ability to stay in a five-tech role or kick inside and add weight to become a fierce interior defensive lineman.

Griffin had a dominant junior year, recording 97 tackles, including 31 tackles for loss, 17.5 sacks, and an interception.

Despite his stature, Griffin stands out with his explosiveness off the line of scrimmage, and the athleticism he has at his size provides for a elite-level ceiling at the next level.

Looking at the finalists, Georgia currently has commitments from four-star Christian Garrett, three-star Stephon Shivers, and three-star JJ Hanne for the defensive line in the 2025 class.

As for USC, they have commitments from four-star Hayden Lowe and three-star Gus Cordova, but both project more as edge rushers, leaving a gap that Griffin could clearly fill.

Miami, on the other hand, has a commitment from three-star in-state lineman Donta Simpson.

Justus Terry | Defensive Lineman

Five-star defensive lineman Justus Terry’s recruitment has taken a number of turns over the past two years, as he’s de-committed from both Georgia and USC at various points.

Terry, a 6’5’’, 275-pound defensive lineman who attends Manchester High School in Georgia, initially committed to the Bulldogs back in January of 2023.

However, he continued to take visits elsewhere and ultimately flipped his commitment from Georgia to USC in March this year.

Then came official visits, where Terry took trips to Georgia, Florida State, and Alabama. Following those visits, he de-committed from the Trojans and now remains as the second-highest uncommitted defensive lineman in the 2025 class.

Terry has publicly admitted that he rushed both of his initial decisions, but there appear to be three teams in the race at the moment: Georgia, Florida, State, and Alabama.

At this stage, it feels like the Bulldogs are the favorites, with the two other contenders behind in the race, but this recruitment may go on for a while as the five-star takes visits in the fall.

If Georgia could land both Terry and Elijah Griffin, they would bring in one of the more loaded defensive line rooms in the 2025 class.

Jonah Williams | Linebacker/Safety

Five-star linebacker/safety Jonah Williams is expected to announce his commitment on August 24th, so the clock is ticking for the 6’3, 203-pound Texas native.

Holding 33 scholarship offers, it was a busy month for Williams back in June, as he took official visits to USC, Texas A&M, Oregon, and Ohio State, while recently heading to Texas for a visit in Austin in July.

With a few weeks away from his commitment date, it still feels like Williams’s recruitment is up in the air, with Texas, Texas A&M, LSU, and Oregon all firmly in the mix, while Oklahoma could be a school still to watch as well.

With his frame, Williams could play safety or bulk up and move to linebacker at the next level. He’s one of the best athletes in the entire class and could be a swiss-army knife for whatever defense can land his commitment.

Williams is a two-sport athlete playing baseball as well, adding to the intrigue of his athletic profile.

Even though the commitment date is coming closer and closer, this one still feels fully up in the air for a Top 10 recruit in the 2025 class.

Michael Fasusi | Offensive Lineman

Another offensive lineman rounds out the list, as five-star offensive tackle Michael Fasusi remains available with an expected commitment date of August 21 just around the corner.

A native of Texas, Fasusi had a busy summer, with official visits to Texas, Oklahoma, Texas A&M, and Missouri.

Fasusi dropped a Top 5 of Texas, Texas A&M, Oregon, Oklahoma, and Missouri, with the Longhorns and Sooners seen as the perceived favorites heading into the final weeks.

Still, there are teams to be monitored, as the offensive tackle recently took a trip to Florida, but the hometown school remains as the big draw here, while Oklahoma is placing a major emphasis as well on drawing him to Norman.

This recruitment could also be one to monitor in the fall should Fasusi take gameday visits elsewhere, but one school will hear their name called soon in August as the five-star will commit to a program in just less than two weeks.

As a player, Fasusi has elite tools with great size, length, and athleticism at the position, while there’s evident room to add more weight at the next level.

If he continues to develop technically, he could very well be a first-round NFL talent when it’s all said and done.
