All eyes are now on whether Liverpool target Martin Zubimendi is included in Real Sociedad’s squad to play Union Berlin in a friendly on Friday.

 

Arne Slot’s Liverpool are putting in a big push to sign Zubimendi and the indications are the player is open to the move.

 

Talks are centred on whether Liverpool will pay the €60m release clause in his Real Sociedad contract or negotiate a fee.

Real Sociedad are still hoping they can keep Zubimendi, who is a key man, and he trained normally with the club today.

 

Now, according to Spanish daily Marca, all eyes are on the Union Berlin game for a clue about where the transfer currently is.

 

 

If Zubimendi is not in the squad for the game then it would be an indication the transfer is closer to happening.

 

However, if Zubimendi is picked in the squad then it could show that a move to Liverpool is further away from being done.

 

 

Real Sociedad will be powerless to prevent Zubimendi going if Liverpool trigger the €60m release clause and would instead have to hope the midfielder turned down a switch to Anfield.
