Dominic Solanke has been named as one of Tottenham’s top striker targets with Spurs believed to be keen on pushing talks forward with the start of the Premier League season looming.

Tottenham are pushing to sign Solanke

The Standard report that Tottenham are keen to sign Bournemouth’s Dominic Solanke this summer, with the sale of current striker, Richarlison, potentially freeing up the necessary funds.

According to The Telegraph, Solanke has a £65 million release clause in his deal with The Cherries, with Spurs now keen to push through a move for the 26-year-old ahead of the new Premier League season.

Fabrizio Romano issued a further update on Spurs’ pursuit of the forward, stating that Tottenham have now opened talks with Bournemouth over a potential transfer after Solanke himself gave a green light.

New report denies Tottenham and Bournemouth talks

Despite various reports, Alex Crook has stated that Tottenham and Bournemouth are still yet to open talks over the potential transfer of Dominic Solanke.

Crook further revealed that although it doesn’t mean that the two sides will not begin talks shortly, reports that state talks are underway are believed to be untrue with no club-to-club contact as of yet.

He tweeted: ‘As of now THFC have not opened talks with AFCB re Dominic Solanke. Doesn’t mean they won’t but that it is the up-to-date info.’

With transfers that are worth a lot of money, such as Solanke’s, there are usually a lot of conflicting reports, many of which may be pushed by a club or agent in order to force through a deal or squeeze the most out of it financially.

It is therefore hard to tell what the current state of play is regarding Solanke, although Fabrizio Romano’s word is widely regarded as the most reliable.

But consistent reports that Solanke wants to join, and that Spurs want a deal done, suggest that talks over the 26-year-old can’t be far away, if not already underway.
