Gresham police searching for stabbing suspect in stolen car

Gresham police are on the hunt for a missing stabbing suspect in a stolen car, authorities shared Thursday morning.

PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) -- Gresham police are on the hunt for a man accused of trying to intentionally crash a car he was riding in, stabbing a member of his family, and stealing a minivan.

According to Gresham police, it happened Wednesday night when Samuel Pablo De Jesus was in the car with his family and attempted to grab the steering wheel and tried to crash the vehicle.

The driver managed to avoid crashing but then, according to authorities, Pablo De Jesus stabbed another family member.

Police were called to Mt. Hood Medical Center where they said they learned that Pablo De Jesus had stolen a silver 2022 Kia Carnival, and fled the scene.

The car has Oregon license plates 063PGF and police said that it is missing the key fob so the car may become disabled once it is turned off.

Officials are asking the public to keep an eye out for Pablo De Jesus. He is described as 5'11" and 180 pounds with brown eyes, black hair, and a distinct tattoo on his face.

If Pablo De Jesus or the vehicle is spotted, police say to call 911 and they warn not to approach him because he is known to carry firearms and knives.
