Victim of Brooklyn hit-and-run was trying to get into car: NYPD

MARINE PARK, Brooklyn (PIX11) – The victim of a Brooklyn hit-and-run was trying to get into a car before it struck him early Thursday morning, according to the NYPD.

It happened at Avenue N and Flatbush Avenue in Marine Park around 1:30 a.m. A 23-year-old man was trying to enter a white Jeep SUV when it hit him, per police.

The victim was taken to NYC Health + Hospitals/Kings County in critical condition with injuries to his head and right leg, according to authorities.

The suspect, a 41-year-old man driving the car, was apprehended a block away, per police.

Charges are pending, per police.
