Samsung accidentally reveals a cheaper new Galaxy smartphone is coming soon as fans spot key clue

HINTS of a new Samsung launch were sparked when a cheaper smartphone was spotted on their site before it was pulled down.

Details of a cheaper version of the Galaxy S24 surfaced on Samsung France‘s website, but the listing can no longer be accessed.

The tech team at Sam Mobile claimed Samsung listed the Galaxy S24 Fan Edition (FE) on its official website on August 5 before they took the page down.

This suggests the phone’s manufacture is in the works and that a launch date is fast approaching.

Samsung’s FE models offer much cheaper phones equipped with slightly lower specs.

The South Korean phonemaker tends to offer the FE alternative months after its landmark Galaxy model debuts.

Last year’s Samsung Galaxy S23 was priced at £849 at launch but its Galaxy S23 FE was only £599 – a saving exceeding £200.

The Galaxy Range is often hailed the best in the business making the FE models accessible to those wanting a lower price point.

The high-end Samsung Galaxy 2024 (S24) range launched this January, kitted out with state-of-the-art features.

These include excellent cameras, smart Galaxy AI tools and an overall powerful performance.

Sam Mobile said rumours suggest that the Galaxy S24 FE will have the Exynos 2400 SoC, the same chipset used for the S24.

It’s also expected to come with a good camera but a cheaper, plastic design in a bid to keep costs down.

Last year, the S23 FE was launched on October 26 eight months after the S23’s release.

This comes shortly after Sam Mobile claimed Samsung will roll out its top AI features to cheaper Galaxy smartphones next.

Galaxy AI was launched at the start of the year with a load of new tools, such as the ability to manipulate snaps, translate live phone calls and even write messages for you.

They were initially introduced for the Galaxy S24 line and were also included on the recent Z Flip 6 and Fold 6 with some further enhancements.

Samsung has committed to roll the features out where possible to older smartphones but only for its premium products.

But Sam Mobile say the South Korean tech giant is now planning to bring Galaxy AI to some of its mid-range handsets for the first time.

It’s not clear which models may be eligible, but sources tell the publication they will appear on the Galaxy A line.

The most recent being the Galaxy A35 and the Galaxy A55 which were only launched a few months ago.
