I just couldn’t justify paying so much for a $22 Glossier brow gel – I tried a $5 dupe & it’s seriously almost the same

A BARGAIN shopper shared the budget-friendly substitute she found for a pricier beauty product.

She admitted they didn’t want to fork over the cash for a $22 Glossier brow gel, but a dupe that is a quarter of the price gave the same result.

Reddit user Corriecorgi shared her favorite alternative to a Glossier product.

She revealed in a post that she “couldn’t justify paying so much” for Glossier Boy Brow Gel-Pomade, $22, which can be purchased at Sephora or Ulta.

It is a “volumizing gel-pomade that quickly and visibly thickens, conditions, and grooms brows into place,” according to the product description.

Beeswax and carnauba wax combats stiffness, the oleic acid moisturizes, and the collagen “conditions hair fiber.”

The makeup lover said it only lasted her ten weeks maximum, but the product page describes it as “long-wearing.”

The Redditor went on the hunt for another affordable option.

Her sister recommended the E.l.f. Wow Brow Gel, $5 on Amazon.

“It’s seriously almost the same,” she raved.

The “fiber-infused brow gel” also gives wearers “voluminous-looking brows,” according to the description.

It comes in four shades, while the Glossier comes in seven, including two translucent.

She added that she wasn’t sure about them because she only used the clear Glossier Boy Brow.

She has since implemented it as part of her new eyebrow maintenance routine.

“I do neutral brown in Wow Brow and just skip the pencil that I used to do,” she explained.

She said that she is normally “very picky about brow products.”

She prefers the pomade or “mousse” texture of the Glossier item, but said the E.l.f buy is the only thing she tried “that’s been close.”

Another Redditor liked the benefits of the beauty deal.

“I was skeptical of the E.l.f because I previously tried the Essence one that people said was a dupe,” she said.

She said it was “too wet” and “nowhere near as good,” so they bought the E.l.f. option.

The beauty fan decided to do an experience where they put the Glossier Boy Brow on one eyebrow and the E.l.f. Wow Brow on the other.

“Later in the day, I couldn’t remember what one was what,” she said.

Their only observation was that the E.l.f. neutral brown is slightly darker or cooler toned than the Glossier’s brown shade.

“But there’s really not much difference. The texture and finish was the same – gentle and waxy, so I’m satisfied to use the Elf instead from now on,” she concluded.
