Govt withdraws The Waqf Properties (Eviction of Unauthorised Occupants), Bill, 2014

On Thursday, the Indian government withdrew the Waqf Properties (Eviction of Unauthorised Occupants) Bill 2014 from the Rajya Sabha. This bill, introduced by former minority affairs minister K Rahman Khan, aimed to establish a mechanism for evicting unauthorized occupants from waqf properties, which are assets dedicated for religious or charitable purposes.
