Trai directs telcos to blacklist entities misusing connections for spam calls

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (Trai) mandated telecom operators to disconnect and blacklist for two years any entity misusing bulk connections for spam calls. Telcos must also block messages with unwhitelisted URLs from September and trace spam message flows by October. The initiative aims to curb the growing menace of robocalls and spam messages.
