Albany woman arrested in stolen dog investigation

On Monday, around 9:40 a.m., police responded to the 200 block of Myrtle Avenue for reports of two French bulldogs that had been stolen. When they arrived, they learned that the two dogs had been stolen off the front porch of the owner's home the day prior.

ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- An Albany woman was arrested and accused of stealing a French bulldog. Destiny Winslow, 29, was taken into custody on Wednesday.

On Monday, around 9:40 a.m., police responded to the 200 block of Myrtle Avenue for reports of two French bulldogs that had been stolen. When they arrived, they learned that the two dogs had been stolen off the front porch of the owner's home the day prior.

On Wednesday, police say Winslow was found in possession of one of the dogs. She was taken into custody at Walgreens at 41 Holland Avenue.

Winslow was charged with fourth-degree criminal possession of property. She was arraigned in Albany City Criminal Court and is held at the Albany County jail on a $2,500 bond.

The dog has since been reunited with its owner. An investigation into the matter is ongoing, and anyone with information is asked to contact Animal Control at (518) 472-7107.
