QUEENS, N.Y. (PIX11) – An American Airlines flight heading to Spain was diverted to John F. Kennedy International Airport on Wednesday due to an overflowing bathroom, according to the FAA.

The flight departed from Dallas. It landed around 10:30 p.m. in New York after the crew reported the lavatory issue, per the FAA.

The FAA is investigating the incident. PIX11 News reached out to American Airlines for comment.

Another flight was diverted to JFK Airport in July after passengers were served spoiled food, according to the FAA. Several passengers got sick on board the flight.
