Police ID Hayward teen killed in drive-by shooting

HAYWARD — Police here have identified an 18-year-old man shot and killed while driving down Havana Avenue last month.

Angel Enciso Ayala, of Hayward, died roughly seven hours after being shot from a moving car on the 27000 block of Havana Avenue, police said. Authorities haven’t publicly stated whether they’ve established a motive or arrested any suspects.

The shooting occurred around 10 a.m. on July 13.

Police say Enciso Ayala was traveling in a vehicle when another car pulled up alongside him and someone from inside opened fire. The car he was in veered off the road and crashed. He was transported to a hospital and placed on life support but died around 5 p.m. that afternoon.

A GoFundMe page set up by Enciso Ayala’s family describes him as “the life of the party” who always helped those around him.

“He loved his family very much and at his young age took care of them in any way he could. He had a big heart,” the page says. “He really was a real life Angel.”

Anyone with more information related to the homicide is encouraged to call Hayward police Detective Green at 510-293-7176.
