Police have arrested hundreds following the riots

Officers can be heard shouting at him asking where a bat that he wielded during the shock riot is, the new footage released by CPS today reveals.

Morgan pleads with the officers, saying “I’m English” as the police tell him to stop resisting and “get your hands behind your back!”

He also screams “f****** a***holes, I’m f***ing 70 mate” at officers as they attempted to detain him.

The rioter was pinned on the ground and cuffed by officers during last week’s carnage before promptly appearing in court.

He pleaded guilty on Monday.

Sentencing Morgan to 32 months, Recorder of Liverpool Andrew Menary said: “You are 69 years of age now, but your advancing years did not stop you from taking part.”

The court heard Morgan told police a wooden cosh he was holding was “for his own protection” after he was arrested.

Prosecutor Christopher Taylor said the thug dropped the weapon as he was charged by multiple officers, before “kicking out and swearing” as they tried to handcuff him on the floor.

The court saw additional footage that wasn’t released in today’s CPS release.

As fireworks were shot at cops in the background, Morgan yelled: “I’m gonna die here. I’m English, I’m English.

“Get off me. I’m f***ing 70 years of age.

“F*** off, you c***, f*** off. You’re gonna kill me.”

An officer then asks: “Why are you here, why are you in a riot man?”

Morgan replies: “I’m trying to go home. F***s sake. I appreciate what you’re doing.”

Daniel McGuire, 45, pictured in pink, was sentenced to 26 months today

He then told officers he was in the area “because I live here”, adding: “You don’t know what I have been through. I’ve been pepper sprayed.”

Mitigating, Paul Lewis told the court Morgan had “no experience” of prison, was “profoundly” sorry and was influenced by drinking on the day of the riots.

He was joined in the dock by John O’Malley, sentenced to 32 months in prison as he was told he should be “ashamed” of his actions.

The prosecutor said the yob, 43, plucked weapons to hurl at cops from bins and was part of a group that built a “pyramid bonfire” to burn in the street.

He said: “You were at the front of what was essentially a baying mob.”

DAWN RAIDS

Dawn raids were launched today to arrest violent rioters as CCTV images of suspects were also released in a bid to track down dozens of thugs.

Met Police Chief Sir Mark Rowley said his force smashed its way into the homes of the “most violent” members of last week’s protests in Whitehall and branded them “criminal thugs”.

It comes after Brits came out in force last night to quell riot fears after cops launched the UK’s biggest ever police mobilisation to crush planned carnage.

Never before have 41 out of Britain’s 43 forces been mobilised to intervene in what police expected to be a “busy” night – with 100 areas earmarked for far-right riots.

A total of 6,000 elite officers were deployed to stop violence erupting in areas including London, Liverpool, Sheffield and Birmingham.

However, huge crowds of people chanting “refugees welcome” descended on areas earmarked for disorder.

It comes as…

A thug who spat at cops on TV and a rioter found with a stone in his trousers have also been sentenced.

Dozens of far-right yobs around the country have appeared before judges today amid a crackdown after violent protests swept the UK.

Three rioters were sentenced at Plymouth Crown Court for their despicable actions.

McGuire, 45, faced the judge after a court heard he spat at officers and had to be pushed back from a police barricade.

His vile actions were caught on camera as the chaotic scene was broadcast on television.

The defendant appeared in the dock with his right arm in a sling and using a crutch after the violent disorder.

He was sentenced to 26 months.
