Wolfeye Studios, co-founded in 2019 by Dishonored and Prey co-creator (and Arkane Studios co-founder) Raphael Colantonio, confirmed Thursday that it was working on a new game. It’s a first-person action RPG set in a retro sci-fi universe. Beyond that, we don’t know much.

That includes any kind of title of course, much less a release window, although in a statement, Colantonio spoke of a “limited private Alpha” for the game sometime in 2025. But whatever this is, it is out of pre-production and “is now full steam ahead in Production,” the studio said in a news release.

“Wolfeye’s intentifon is to get input from the community early on in the development process to help make the game the best it can be by running an exclusive and limited private Alpha,” the studio said. “This next game will be an ambitious new IP built upon the DNA of earlier Arkane games to deliver a rich and detailed world, freedom of how to play and a deep RPG experience.”

What games has Raphael Colantonio made?

This second game follows Wolfeye’s first, Weird West, an isometric ivew action RPG published by Devolver Digital in 2022 for PlayStation 4, Windows PC, and Xbox One, with versions for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X published a year later. It was nominated for Best Role-Playing Game at the 2022 DICE Awards, though it stood little chance against the winner, Elden Ring.

“Fans of the past games I have been involved with, such as DIshonored and Prey, will feel at home,” Colantonio said in Wolfeye’s news release, “as well as fans of RPGs in general.”

Colantonio mentioned that this game does not yet have a publisher. On Tuesday, he teased in an X post that “fans of the previous 1st person games I was involved with […] will be happy.”

Colantonio left Lyon, France-based Arkane in 2019 to start Wolfeye with Julien Roby, a former Arkane executive. Wolfeye is based in Austin, Texas. Arkane’s Austin development studio was shut down in May following the underperformance of its Xbox Game Pass exclusive Redfall, which launched in 2023. (The rest of the studio, a subsidiary of Bethesda Softworks, remains open). It’s assumed that some Arkane Austin alumni will come aboard for this project, too.
