Oklahoma State Fair announces new attractions for 2024
OKLAHOMA CITY (KFOR) - The 2024 Oklahoma State Fair is hosting some new attractions.
According to the fair, there will be special events, shows, exhibits, attractions and competitions guests can look forward to September 12-22.
Special Events
- OK!toberfest: At the Fest Tent, you'll find German beer, wine and music from live bands. The event will also feature bratwurst and German potato salad from Harvell Concessions.
- Urban Homesteading Expo: On September 15, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., the Urban Homesteading Expo is a place for anyone interested in growing their own food, raising animals, or learning more about self-reliance.
- Taste of the Fair Tuesday: On September 17, gate admission, Little Book of BIG DEALS, Sky Eye Wheel ride and almost every stand at the fair will only charge $4.
- Bison Encounter: On September 19-22, this event gives guests the opportunity to see Oklahoma's "majestic mammal" up close. Guests can also ask question to learn more about bison from the Oklahoma State Bison Association experts in Barn 3 during the last four days of the fair.
- Wine & Palette: On September 19, at 4 and 6 p.m., painting classes are being held for artist and novice alike. Canvases, paint and aprons will all be provided. Pre-registered guests can grab their favorite fair food beforehand (nothing from home allowed), and make their way to the Special Events Area.

Shows
- Stargazing in the Planetarium: Guest can learn more about the night sky, constellations planets, the universe's structure and more.
- Crackin' Corn Comedy Show: Experience the cornball clodhopper cranking up his crop-quenching contraption!
- Pirate Adventure Experience: Pirate Man Dan will be setting sail daily from the Plaza Stage. You may see him leaving his ship on stilts or a unicycle. If he stays on the boat, you'll get a chance to climb aboard!
- Tumbleweed Crossing: The award-winning comedy wild west gunfight stunt show will take you back in time where "laughs fly like bullets and hilarity is the law of the land!"
- PRCA Stunt Rider Sophie Duch: Riding since she was three years old, Duch entertains with trick riding, Roman riding and Annie Oakley mounted shooting reenactments.

Exhibits & Attractions
- The Great American Living Carousel: For little cowboys and cowgirls, this carousel features beautiful, purebred Welsh ponies!
- Stinkin' Sentra by Dent Source: Four contestants will get the chance to stay in a smelly Sentra during the 2024 fair. The last person to leave gets to take it home! Visit StinkinSentra.com to learn more.
- Pretty Bird Paradise: This FREE, all-day exhibit is interactive and features more than 100 parakeets, most of them rescues.
- Wick & Whimsy Frontier Candle Maker: Jenni brings her craft of candle making all the way from Rockwood, Tennessee.

Competitions
- Reading is Sweet: This competition features Junior Arts & Crafts where kids can recreate a treat from their favorite storybook. They will need give an explanation as to why they made their treat and it will be taste tested!
- Poultry Show: Bring your featured friends to compete in a variety of classes and divisions. There's something for everyone!
- Major Neurocognitive Crafts: This pre-fair competition is in the Fine Arts, Crafts & Hobbies Division. This event features art from artists with a major neurocognitive disorder like Parkinson's, Alzheimer's and multiple sclerosis.
- From the Beehive: Beeswax & Cut Comb Contest: This competition is in the Fine Arts, Crafts & Hobbies Division and is in partnership with the Oklahoma State Beekeepers Association. Competitors can bring their best cut comb and beeswax to be judged.
- Old Timers Showmanship: This competition allows advanced aged competitors to show off their cows.
- Supreme Overall Cattle Drive: Returning to the OK State Fair, this is an overall supreme drive in the cattle ring. There will be a Supreme overall Junior Heifer, Open Heifer and Open Bull.
