Redditor Drinkwinesavepuppies has shared how they are saving their strands.

“Stopping the use of aerosol dry shampoo made a huge difference in my hair!” they said.

And that wasn’t the only trick they had up their hair-strengthening sleeve.

“I luckily have light hair so now I just use baby powder applied with a makeup brush and rub it in,” they said.

They were a big fan of one particular find – Lush Dry Shampoo.

They shared how the product also had a pleasant-smelling perk.

You can just apply your dry shampoo the same way as an aerosol version – there are also of options for darker-colored hair as well.

There was a big reason that they had to find an aerosol alternative.

“I found that the aerosol was drying out my hair excessively and was really damaging to it,” they said.

Their only warning was not to overuse the dry shampoo.

If you want to try the trick for yourself, Lush’s No Drought Dry Shampoo sells for $20.

The rest of their routine included doing two washes with clarifying shampoo to “clean my scalp out properly!”

They also swore by another hair-saving secret.

“Also, hair oiling at night as helped me. I use a tea tree oil/argan oil treatment I found on Amazon,” they said.

“My hair is on the oilier side so I was scared it would make my hair worse but it just moisturizes it nicely,” they added.

“If your hair is oily don’t dry it out and don’t be afraid to use moisturizing products!”

Another Redditor also shared their own hair struggles.

“It took me longer than I care to admit – literal years – to realize that the reason my hair kept breaking off at the top of my head was due to excessive dry shampoo,” they said.

“It was causing it to completely dry out and snap off. It’s so obvious to me now,” they continued.

Yet another user had their own DIY recipe to save their dry locks.

“I made my own dry shampoo and added cocoa powder to make it brown to blend into my hair better. I bet that would work well with baby powder. I’ll try that sometime,” they said.

The original poster explained how they sometimes incorporate arrowroot powder into their dry shampoo mix.

Yet another was a big fan of one product.

“So smart! The baby powder def helps soak up the oil!” said the Redditor.
