EastEnders legend returning to Albert Square 31 years after debut – and it’s bad news for killer Reiss Colwell

AN EASTENDERS legend is returning to Albert Square 31 years after her debut – and it’s bad news for killer Reiss Colwell.

Soap icon Patsy Palmer will be reprising her role of Bianca Jackson in the BBC soap as she makes a shock return.

Viewers watched Bianca flee Walford in June after confronting sister Sonia Fowler’s boyfriend Reiss about his weird behaviour.

She outed Sonia and Reiss’ theft of comatose Debbie’s savings to pay for their IVF in front of their horrified friends and neighbours in the Vic.

But since she’s been gone, he’s murdered his comatose wife and gone off the deep end.

Bianca was hiding a dark secret of her own – that she’s been battling depression but she confided in Kat.

Sonia has since forgiven Bianca after Kat Slater intervened to make her aware of Bianca’s recent struggles, but the pair haven’t seen or spoke to each other since.

But Bianca won’t be alone on her return.

Albert Square is set to get a whole lot noisier in the coming months as Bianca Jackson returns to Walford once again, but unbeknownst to her, dad David Wicks is also hot on her trail.

Bianca and David last saw each other ten years ago before he left to live in America following the breakdown of his relationship with Bianca’s mother, Carol Jackson.

And while the father daughter duo undoubtedly love each other, their relationship has always been complicated.

Actor Michael French is reprising his role after ten years away.

The actor – who last played David in 2014 – has signed up for a shock comeback for a brief stint of episodes later this year.

He said: “I feel honoured to be asked to reprise the role of David Wicks once again.

“It may only be a brief visit, but we know from his past that David never fails to create a lot of drama in a very short time.”

Chris Clenshaw, EastEnders Executive Producer added: “David Wicks is undoubtedly one of EastEnders’ most beloved rogues, and we are thrilled to welcome the talented Michael French back to the legendary role as we lead up to the show’s 40th anniversary.

Killer Reiss could be a rare mistake for EastEnders

The Sun’s Soaps Editor Carl Greenwood fears EastEnders killer twist may be a huge mistake…

SOAPS always work best when there’s a raging killer on the loose – and now EastEnders are testing that theory.

When you think of iconic serial killers in soap – it’s always the ones that enjoy it that go down in history.

Corrie’s Richard Hillman and Pat Phelan, and Emmerdale’s delicious Meena Jutla – murders never seemed to be a chore for them.

Viewers like to watch people enjoying themselves – even if their favourite past time involves going through their neighbours like a knife through butter.

The least favourite killers are guilt-stricken murderers who blunder their way through killings wishing they hadn’t. It’s dull and not enjoyable as a viewer.

I fear creepy drip Reiss Colwell could be the latter. Especially if the soap falls into the trap only killing off inconsequential characters like Debbie.

So should he kill again – and we don’t know that he will – please, please let him enjoy it.

Otherwise we’re in for a bumpy road to the 40th when there’s so much promise.

“David’s character was never shy of drama during his previous stints, and I can assure you this return will be no different.”

The soap also recently announced the return of Tracy-Ann Oberman as the legendary villain Chrissie Watts.
