Australian skateboarder Keegan Palmer is celebrating his second Olympic gold medal with a new Golden Goose sneaker.

According to the Italian footwear brand, it has launched a new Ball Star Pro sneaker based off the same model Palmer wore to nab his second Olympic gold medal on Wednesday in Paris.

The new limited-edition Keegan Palmer Ball Star Pro sneaker is crafted for professional skateboarding performance, withstanding impact and enhancing the skating experience, the company said. This performance model features a distinct lived-in effect, visible on the black leather and suede upper, complemented by a neon orange star. Highlighted by the rubber sole and terry lining, this effect brings a retro vibe to the shoe, while the exposed TPU strap features a velcro fastening for a locked-in fit.

What’s more, special supports in diamond-textured rubber, including a half-moon on the outer side, a front pad, and a rear spur, are carefully positioned where it counts to reduce impact and provide greater durability for professional performance. Black laces and tongues featuring two Art Deco illustrations—a skate gentleman on the right sneaker and a celebratory toasting on the left—add the finishing touch, evoking the carefree spirit of the roaring twenties in Paris.

With this launch, Palmer joins Olympic bronze medalist Cory Juneau and legendary skater Rune Glifberg, further strengthening Golden Goose’s deep ties to the skateboarding community. Born in the USA and raised in Australia, Palmer quickly fell in love with skateboarding and rose to prominence. At the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, he clinched Australia’s first skateboarding gold medal with two impressive runs, including a historic kickflip body varial 540.

“Skate culture has always embraced the courage to dream and push boundaries to go beyond,” Palmer said in a statement. “It’s more than just competitions and tricks; it’s a lifestyle that celebrates true authenticity. I’m excited to be on this journey with Golden Goose, a brand that truly understands and shares this passion for dreaming big and staying true to self.”

The new limited-edition Keegan Palmer Ball Star Pro, which retails for $820, is now exclusively available at GoldenGoose.com.
