Donald Trump's apparently unscripted press conference sounded off several comments that left many spectators scratching their heads Thursday — with some saying it pointed to a candidate who's flailing to get his campaign back on track.

Trump spoke on numerous topics and voiced several old grudges he'd brought up before as he addressed the media at his Mar-a-Lago club — all as Kamala Harris' campaign shared clips of his speech online in real time.

  • "I actually had a positive inflation. I'm not going to give you a whole course in economics."
  • "In history, for any country, nobody has had crowds like I’ve had."
  • "I think my base is 75% of the country."
  • "Why haven't you been campaigning? What a stupid question. Because I'm leading by a lot and I'm letting their convention go through. I’m campaigning a lot. I’m doing tremendous amounts."
  • "Our country is in the most dangerous position it's ever been in. {We're) in real danger of World War III."
  • “There was last time," Trump said when asked if there would be a peaceful transfer of power in 2025.
  • "I think the people, if you look at January 6th, those people were treated very harshly."
  • Asked if he would revoke the abortion drug mifepristone, Trump said, "You could do things that would supplement. Absolutely. And those things are pretty open and humane."
  • Trump says of Hillary Clinton, “I could have done terrible things to her,” but instead, "I was very protective of her. I didn't want to see the wife of a former president go to jail."
  • "It's possible that I won't do as well with Black women. White males way up. White males have gone through the roof. White males way up."
