Angela Chen Joins Vox

Vox

Vox editor-in-chief Swati Sharma and executive editor Elbert Ventura announced today that Angela Chen has joined the brand as a senior editor on the policy, politics, and ideas team. She begins her new role on August 19.

“I’m thrilled to welcome Angela. One thing that sets Vox’s coverage of policy and politics apart is our deep commitment to ideas and intellectual debate and our ability to clarify the stakes for everyone. We are an idea-driven newsroom, and Angela is a perfect match for our ethos. I’m looking forward to seeing the insight and curiosity she will bring to our coverage,” said Ventura.

In her role at Vox, Angela Chen will work with writers on a wide range of stories across many issue areas — poverty, reproductive rights, housing, the care economy, and guns, among others — unpacking the ideas, themes, and concepts that underpin our politics and policies. Angela was most recently a senior editor at Wired, running its Ideas section and publishing thought-provoking work on various topics. Before that, she worked at the Wall Street Journal, MIT Technology Review, and Vox Media’s editorial brand, The Verge.
