Jacob Elordi Talks 'Euphoria' With Eric Dane Following Reports He's 'Aloof' About Third Season (& See 1 Question He Wouldn't Answer)

Jacob Elordi opened up about his hit series Euphoria with his costar and onscreen dad Eric Dane.

The duo linked up to have a conversation for Interview Magazine. During it, they touched on everything from celebrity status and the advice that Jacob got from Eric.

They also explicitly discussed their HBO series. Their interviews comes a few weeks following a report stating that Euphoria creator Sam Levinson was “having issues” with one of the show’s biggest stars. The report suggested that Jacob was “aloof” and “ambivalent” about returning for a third season.

While they touched on a variety of topics, there was one question that Jacob opted out of answering while on the record.

“There’s this one other thing you told me that I’ve repeated so many times, but I’ve struggled with terribly. You said to me, ‘I cannot afford to worry about what anybody thinks of me because I will literally die,’” Jacob recalled. “I still hold that.”

He continued, asking, “But I wonder, do you still find it hard, as everything sort of gets bigger in this digital age, to not let that affect you?”

“A certain amount of it comes with a territory, you know? It’s something that we’ve certainly signed up for. But at the same time, it’s not something you can ever prepare for, nor is it something that I will ever get used to,” Eric replied.

Eric added that you “can’t really prepare yourself for that type of success and celebrity status.”

“Which is why I think a lot of people get upset when actors complain about that aspect of it. But it’s hard, and we’re allowed to have voices. A lot of people don’t want to hear me complain about having so many eyeballs on me. But that’s a part of this gig that I don’t think I will ever be 100 percent comfortable with,” Eric continued.

While talking about Euphoria, Eric said, “God bless Sam Levinson,” prompting Jacob to agree and say that he’s had his “more meaningful conversations” about the show with Eric.

“It really is like, my bread and butter. It’s what taught me how to do everything: the way I approach movies now, the way I approach the work now, the way I approach the industry. I’ll be quoting you all the time. It was so much fun,” he said.

Jacob continued, saying, “Also, just hanging out, running around LA. I haven’t lived like that since then. It felt like a time machine to how I used to see the Rat Pack.”

“Face value wouldn’t suggest that it was any fun but yeah, we did have a lot of fun with that stuff,” Eric agreed.

What question did Jacob refuse to answer during the interview?

“Dude, tell me about your love life,” Eric asked at the end of the conversation, prompting Jacob to reply, “I’ll call you…”
