West Ham hijack Juventus move for long-term Man Utd transfer target Jean-Clair Todibo and reach £34million agreement

WEST HAM are on the verge of hijacking Juventus’ move for Jean-Clair Todibo, according to reports.

Todibo, 24, has been one of the most sought-after defenders in Europe this transfer window, with the likes of Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea all linked.

Juventus have also held a long-term interest and even began closing in on a deal with OGC Nice earlier this week.

However, West Ham swooped in on Thursday to hijack the move.

The Athletic claims a loan move with the option to buy has been negotiated between the two clubs.

And according to Fabrizio Romano, the fee is expected to be worth around £34million.

The Hammers have now booked a medical for Friday.

West Ham had a £25m bid rejected for Todibo at the beginning of July, which then enabled Juventus to swoop in.

The Serie A giants remained in talks with Nice for weeks but were unable to strike an agreement.

Todibo enjoyed a successful 2023-24 campaign with Nice and even helped the club qualify for the Europa League.

He joined the French side in a £13m transfer from Barcelona three years ago and has since made 136 appearances.

New West Ham boss Julen Lopetegui wanted to add two central defenders to his squad this summer.

Max Kilman joined in a £40m move from Wolves last month and signed a seven-year deal with the Hammers.

The east London side have also signed Crysencio Summerville, Guido Rodríguez, Niclas Füllkrug, Luis Guilherme and Wes Foderingham this window.
