Surfless looking at Dee Why
Hello Friends,
Only the tiniest hint of a wave at Dee Why this morning. Take your floatiest surf tool if you’re keen, but don’t expect much above the knee high mark – if that.
Apart from the almost flat conditions, Friday started out in benign fashion with a faint WNW breeze barely ruffling the sea surface, partly cloudy skies and the prospect of a 20 C high later. Out at sea there was a mix of tiny south to east 6-sec wind bump in the one metre range.
The Goat hasn’t stirred just yet, but I’m hoping that later today he’ll share his thoughts about our surf prospects for the coming week. My quick take is that we’ll be waiting until mid-next week before things improve much at all. The doldrums of spring approach…
Go well and have a great Friday!
Weather Situation
A high pressure system will remain slow-moving over the Tasman Sea for the coming days, although a trough will bring a brief and weak southerly change to southern waters today. During the weekend, another trough may develop along the coast while the ridge of high pressure persists across the south.
