Georgia Republican arrested for DUI after hitting bicyclist

Republican State Representative Devan Seabaugh was driving in the bicycle lane on Thursday night when he ran into a cyclist. He was subsequently taken into custody by the North DUI Task Force, according to reports.

WSB TV reported Friday morning that the Cobb County Republican was arrested after 9 p.m.

A witness shared photos of the scene with the network that showed Seabaugh's car with special plates assigned to lawmakers. Another photo showed Seabaugh standing handcuffed on the sidewalk. Photos of the bicycle show that the wheel was bent. The report said that it is unknown how seriously the cyclist was harmed.

Seabaugh, an avid supporter of Donald Trump, followed the arrest by posting on Facebook talking about all of the things he and fellow Republicans did for Georgia police. He specifically cited that the GOP "passed bail reform to ensure criminals show up to court."

One individual responded to it by posting photos of Seabaugh's arrest.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution said that the Georgia State Police would have information on the charges in the coming days.
