Signal users in Russia, especially in Moscow and St Petersburg, reported extensive glitches with the messenger app on Friday. The app worked normally via VPN or in censorship bypass mode, hinting at potential blocking. Signal failed to register new accounts without a VPN. This attempt represents the first reported blocking of the messenger in Russia.
