BED-STUY, Brooklyn (PIX11) – A school of goldfish has made its home on a Brooklyn sidewalk.

The goldfish were seen swimming in a puddle fed by a leaking fire hydrant on the corner of Tompkins Avenue and Hancock Street in Bed-Stuy.

Around 100 goldfish are believed to be swimming in the pond, according to Curbed, who initially reported on the sidewalk goldfish pond.

"Something different," said one resident, who was overlooking the pond in a chair beside it. "In a community like this, you got… some in the community that like it and you got some that don't."

A sign next to the hydrant reads, "Please!! Do not touch or take our fish. It's for observation only! You're being watched."

"We put the fish in there, we feed them, it's in freshwater," said the resident. "It's not bothering nobody."

Some residents believe that the fish aren't in the right environment and even tried to get them out of the puddle, according to reporting from Curbed.
