Huge £10k reward on offer for information about armed jewellery robbery ‘by notorious Night Watcher’

A £10,000 reward is on offer for information about an armed jewellery robbery thought to be the work of the notorious Night Watcher.

The cash has been put up by Crimestoppers following the £1.8million theft from the home of a 63-year-old woman.

In the raid on June 21, the masked intruder pistol-whipped the victim before dragging her inside her home in Sevenoaks, Kent, and tying her up.

He fled with 50 items of jewellery and watches.

Police are investigating whether he was the Night Watcher who has targeted the wealthy across the Home Counties for 18 years.

Crimestoppers is now offering the reward for information that leads to a conviction.

Chief executive Mark Hallas said: “This was a shocking burglary that used violence and intimidation. Those involved could strike again.”

In yesterday’s Sun, the victim’s husband described coming home to find his wife tied up.

He said: “It’s what you might expect to see in a horror movie.”
