Final warning to Virgin Media customers as eight channels go off-air TODAY in latest shake-up
EIGHT channels will go dark on Virgin Media this evening in the latest shake-up to TV screens across the UK.
But the move may not come as a surprise to sports fans seeing as the channels were only ever meant to be temporary.
The TV landscape has changed quite a bit this year already[/caption]In recent months, viewers on all platforms, including Sky and Virgin Media, have had to lose several long-running channels.
At end of June Brits bid farewell to four music channels.
These included The Box – which has been on air for 32 years – as well as 4Music, Kiss, Magic and Kerrang TV.
Fortunately, a new NOW 90s & 00s channel has launched to fill the gap.
Elsewhere, there have been some channel revamps too.
Drama, Dave, W and Yesterday, have moved to a shared U brand, making them now U&DRAMA, U&Dave, U&W and U&YESTERDAY.
But today is the last day for eight sports channels on Virgin Media.
These are all Eurosport channels – though Eurosport 1 and Eurosport 2 are remaining.
The Warner Bros Discovery-owned brand launched eight special channels for the Paris Olympics this year.
But as the event is ending those extra channels are no longer needed.
This includes the Eurosport UHD pop-up channel too.
Here is the full list of channels disappearing:
- Eurosport UHD – 562
- Eurosport 3 HD – 563
- Eurosport 4 HD – 564
- Eurosport 5 HD – 565
- Eurosport 6 HD – 566
- Eurosport 7 HD – 567
- Eurosport 8 HD – 568
- Eurosport 9 HD – 569
