CBBC legends reunite on Radio 2 – 19 years after starring in popular kids TV show

CBBC presenters have been reunited nearly two decades after they first started working together.

TV legends Fearne Cotton and Reggie Yates have both carved out their careers, with one moving into the wellness space and the other focusing on investigative documentaries.

Yet for the pair, it all started out at CBBC and presenting children’s TV in the early noughties and now the pair are set to be reunited again.

Writing on the BBC Radio 2 official Instagram, a throwback snap of the pair was shared with Fearne sporting short two tone hair and Reggie beaming with a backwards cap.

The post read: “Fearne and Reggie! Tomorrow on Sounds of the 90s, Fearne is joined by her best mate from the 90s… Reggie Yates! Listen from 10pm on Radio 2 and BBC Sounds.”

Fans have gone wild for the iconic pairing, as one commented: “OH MY GOD ITS REGGIE !!!”

Another shared: “Wow memory lane.”

“Love this!” said a third.

Fearne and Reggie have worked together on and off for years, first appearing together on CBBC Sunday breakfast show Smile and Only In America, which saw them embark on a weird and wacky roadtrip across the States.

CBBC wasn’t the only time Reggie and Fearne joined forces though. They went on to present Top Of The Pops together before moving into radio.

In 2007, Fearne became the first regular female presenter of the Radio 1 Chart Show, which she co-presented with Reggie for two years.

Moving on from co-presenting, she went on to present her own Radio 1 show, airing every weekday morning from 2009 to 2015.

Later she joined BBC Radio 2 in 2016.

Reggie also started his career out with roles on CBBC and programmes like 1Xtra and Top of the Pops.

Speaking to the Guardian, he explained: “Aged 18, I had three separate full-time jobs, six days a week, and a mortgage.

“It sounds weird, but it didn’t feel unusual as there was a pack of us doing it: Fearne Cotton, Holly Willoughby and Stephen Mulhern.”
