Hot and dry weather continues, tracking another tropical wave

We're going to see a nice weekend with hot temperatures and mostly sunny skies. Highs will reach the mid-upper 90s later this afternoon under mostly sunny skies. The good news is heat index values will be on the lower side, 98-103 degrees, due to a continuation of drier air moving in from the northeast.

This same weather patter looks to continue into next week as high pressure remains overhead. This will keep high temperatures in the 96-99 degree range each day. A few isolated showers could become possible each day next week, especially as south winds return, igniting the seabreeze.

A tropical wave across the central Atlantic has a high chance of development through the next seven days as it continues to move towards the Caribbean. Long range models show robust development of this system as it moves north of the Caribbean and towards the southwestern Atlantic in a week to ten days.
