Netflix star in shock motorbike crash as he reveals injury with fans

TOO Hot to Handle star smashed into the front of a van on his motorbike after admitting he’d “become lazy” on the road.

David Birtwistle, 31, shared a photo of his destroyed bike with fans, saying that he was “lucky” it wasn’t more serious.

The nutritionist and personal trainer from London said how the accident “happened so fast”.

Sharing snaps of the bike on the pavement with chunks of metal and plastic scattered around it, David wrote: “After coming round a corner and a van being in the middle of the road, I skidded and hit the front bumper and wheel.

“It all happened so fast, but luckily neither of us were going too quick and the damage to the van was minor.”

He shared a photo of the van, which had a large dent in the side of the bumper and wheel.

“No one else was hurt and fortunately for me, I have no other issues apart from a few scratches,” he wrote.

“After getting concerned I had torn a ligament, I went to physio yesterday for an assessment.

“I’ve been advised by the physio not to run and work to get the swelling down over the next week, then come in for a reassessment.

“Fortunately he doesn’t think there is any major tissue damage and that probably the swelling is just from the impact.

“I’ve been riding for over 10 years and maybe I got a bit lazy but things could have been a lot worse.”

Shortly after the accident he shared a video of him with an ice pack on his knee as he watched TV.

“Not an ideal situation when preparing for a marathon… at least I’ve got a snack,” he wrote.

David shot to fame after appearing on the first ever series of Too Hot To Handle.

The show sees 10 hot singletons all trying to keep their hands off each other.

The show dropped on Netflix in April 2020.

In 2021 he continued his quest for love on Channel 4’s The Love Trap.

The Londoner was part of Wasps Rugby Club before he went on to study at St Mary’s University where he studied strength and conditioning.

He is also a Nike Training ambassador.

David is the founder of a performance coaching company called Endeavour Life too.
