Technology not only makes courts more accountable but also brings people closer to courtrooms: CJI

Chief Justice of India D.Y. Chandrachud, at a national conference on technology in Indian courts, highlighted the pivotal role of technology in enhancing justice delivery. He emphasized that technological advancements, like virtual hearings and the National Judicial Data Grid (NJDG), have made the judiciary more transparent and accessible. Chandrachud praised tools like the Supreme Court Vidhik Anuvaad Software (SUVAS) for translating judgments into regional languages, while underscoring that AI should complement, not replace, human judgment and creativity.
