Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra – Release date, trailers, platforms, and everything we know

Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra looks to remove the ‘moderness’ that we’ve seen from the recent superhero movies, taking us back to a time where there were less multiverses and more focused on a small set of characters contrary to that of Marvel Rivals.

A lot of the game is being held close to the chest of the developers but there is still a lot of information we can dig through, hopefully making things a little clearer for what you can expect when it launches.

Let’s take a look at what we know on the Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra release date, any trailers, what platforms it will be on and more.

Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra release date

As of right now, the release date for Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra is 2025, there hasn’t been a month or a day announced for the game’s launch.

This was revealed during the GDC 2024 State of Unreal presentation on March 20, 2024, which also showcased a new trailer.

The lack of more detail on the launch isn’t too surprising since when it was announced in late 2022, there wasn’t even a title, just a reveal that a project between Marvel Games and Skydance New Media was in motion.

What we expect is that we’ll receive some more concrete information on the release date later in the year, maybe at New York Comic Con, since this is taking place in November 2024.

Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra trailers

There have been two trailers for Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra so far – the announcement of the project, and a story trailer.

The announcement trailer was a short but sweet affair, basically telling us that an old-timey Marvel game was coming, capturing a time where Hydra were starting to fire on all cylinders.

While not technically stating it, from this, we knew that Captain America and Black Panther would be the two focal points of the game backed up by a soldier and a spy.

Moving onto the story trailer, this one certainly had a bit more meat on the bones compared to that announcement teaser.

Even though there were some similar shots of the world, we got a pretty in-depth look at all four of the aforementioned characters, as well as a sneak peek into the dynamics between them all.

We also see Cap and Black Panther appear to start fighting, suggesting that even though they could be on the same side morally, they’ll be taking very different avenues.

Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra platforms

While there hasn’t been any announcement in regards to the platforms Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra will be playable on, we can make quite an assured guess as to what these are.

We expect Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra to launch on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC, skipping the older generation of consoles.

It’s quite clear from the graphical fidelity shown in the in engine footage that the Xbox One and PS4 will just not be able to handle a game of this ilk.

Moreover, since it’s a 2025 launch as well, it is about that time where a lot of titles will be skipping old gen in favor of nailing it on the more current tech.

What is Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra based on?

Even though this era was somewhat explored by the first Captain America movie where we saw Steve Rogers first acquire his powers, we haven’t seen a scenario where Cap and Black Panther are at loggerheads.

Marvel 1943 isn’t a new concept though as it is based on the Captain America/Black Panther: Flags of Our Fathers comics which was a limited 2010 series, exploring Paris, and fighting back against Hydra.

Since there is source material to go off, this hopefully will only stand the game in good stead.

Are Captain America and Black Panther the only superheroes in Marvel 1943: Rise of Hydra?

The game has a big focus on the Captain America vs Black Panther dynamic as they appear to be battling it out in the streets of Paris.

However, since there are so many superheroes in the Marvel universe, will there be any more in the game?

Well, at this point, we know that there will be at least one more ‘super soldier’ in Marvel 1943.

Cap himself states this in the story trailer but doesn’t mention what it’s powers are or what they even look like.

What he could be alluding to is Red Skull, the head of Hydra since he has various powers such as super strength, enhanced reflexes, and more.

There could be more cameos too but this is being kept under wraps at this current time.
