KU's Bryce Hoppel breaks American record, misses podium in Paris

PARIS (KSNT) - KU track and field alum Bryce Hoppel was the victim of an unbelievably fast 800 meter final in the 2024 Paris Games.

Hoppel broke an American record in the 800 meter run, racing 1:41.67. Despite the personal best, the former Jayhawk missed the podium. Hoppel finished fourth.

His finishing time would've won gold in Tokyo three years ago. Hoppel's time of 1:44.92 won the world indoor championship in March.
