Street closures ahead of Dominican Day Parade

NEW YORK, N.Y. (PIX11) -- A number of road closures will make way for music and dance during the annual Dominican Day Parade on Sunday. 

In its 42nd year the parade will celebrate Merengue music and its impact on Dominican identity. The fun kicks off at 12 p.m. on Sixth Avenue and 37th Street but it will bring a number of closures in the surrounding area both before and after the parade. 

Timing for the closures are at the discretion of the New York Police Department.

List of the road closures for Dominican Day Parade

Formation:

  • Sixth Avenue between 37th Street and 38th Street
  • 36th Street between Broadway and Fifth Avenue
  • 37th Street between Fifth Avenue and Seventh Avenue
  • 38th Street between Fifth Avenue and Seventh Avenue

Route:

  • Sixth Avenue between 36th Street and 55th Street

Dispersal:

  • 55th Street between Sixth Avenue and Fifth Avenue
  • 55th Street between Seventh Avenue and Sixth Avenue
