Tigers place SS Wenceel Perez (oblique) on 10-day IL

The Detroit Tigers placed outfielder Wenceel Perez on the 10-day injured list Saturday with a left oblique strain and recalled outfielder Akil Baddoo from Triple-A Toledo.

Perez left Friday's 3-2 loss to the San Francisco Giants in the fourth inning with side discomfort. The 24-year-old rookie is batting .242 with nine home runs and 32 RBIs in 97 games this season.
