A £1million prize money was won by seven residents of Blaydon-on-Tyne after NE21 5GB landed the weekly Millionaire Street prize today.

Every ticket was worth a whopping £111,111.

However, the lucky player, who wished to be anonymous, revealed they don’t even live there.

They said they used to live in that postcode – but had moved to a different home years ago.

However, they had a lotto ticked based on their house – and decided to keep it just in case.

And the lucky winner’s previous home address was selected as part of the winning lottery jackpot.

The excited player said: “It’s mad, isn’t it? It’s the house!

“We moved away about two and a half years ago, but I decided to keep the ticket. It was just on the off-chance that I won, and it looks like that’s happened.

“I didn’t think you’d be knocking at my old door.”

The lucky player gave golden advice to fellow lotto players after landing the windfall amount.

They said: “I’d recommend this to anyone. Always keep your ticket on the off-chance.”

It comes after a grandma who pocketed a whopping £250,000 in lotto prize money said she blanked when People’s Postcode Lottery told her about the win.

Evelyn Evans, 73, was so excited she’d won the Postcode Lottery that she forgot to ask how much the prize money was.

Evelyn, from Alcester in Warwickshire, took home a quarter of the £1million prize money due to her having two tickets – but had no clue about the amount when she won.

How People's Postcode Lottery works

ACCORDING to the official website, players sign up with their postcode and pay £12 per month.

They are automatically entered into every draw and prizes are announced every day of the month.

Tickets play for prizes every day of the week – from Monday to Sunday, a ticket could win £1,000 each day in the Daily Prize.

Tickets could also win a jackpot of £30,000 in Saturday and Sunday’s Street Prize draws.

People’s Postcode Lottery also offer a £3 Million Postcode Millions draw each month – and your ticket plays for a share of a £3 Million cash prize fund.

Winners are notified by email, SMS message, mail or phonecall depending on the prize they win.

Jackpot winners are visited by the lottery team in person.

She was one of three lucky neighbours to get the jackpot when their postcode was picked for the weekly Millionaire Street draw on April 20.

But when lotto officials phoned her to tell her the great news, she completely blanked out and forgot to ask how much she had actually won.

She said: “I didn’t even ask how much I’d won when the Postcode Lottery phoned to say they were coming to my door and that I’d won a prize.

“It’s just mind-blowing. To think your postcode does actually come up when you least expect it.

“It’s been absolutely unforgettable. I’ve never ever thought I’d win such a big amount.”

Evelyn also revealed that her son Craig scolded her for the reaction and not asking about the prize money.

“My son scolded me for not asking,” she said.

But the bitterness faded after Craig witnessed her mum getting an eye-watering £250,000 cheque.

t comes as a lotto jackpot winner scooped a jaw-dropping £100,000 – and so did all her neighbours thanks to a £12 raffle.

Anne, from Heald Green, Greater Manchester, believes she lives on the luckiest street in the UK after landing the life-changing windfall.

In March this year, another Postcode Lottery winner revealed that while she had won a £145,000 jackpot her dad only got £2,000 after a “strange” week.

It comes as a couple who won £100,000 on the People’s Postcode Lottery were just days away from a decision that would have left them with nothing.
