Father fatally stabbed in Newark, daughter suspected

NEWARK, Ohio (WCMH) -- A Licking County man has died after being stabbed presumably by his daughter, police said.

Nick Neagos, 75, was found on his front porch when police were dispatched to the 200 block of Parana Drive at 1:49 p.m., police said. Officers said when they arrived, Neagos was suffering from multiple stab wounds.

At the same time, his daughter, April Neagos, 47, was found walking on Parana Drive with multiple stab wounds, according to the Licking County Sherriff's Office.

Nick Neagos was pronounced dead at the scene, and April Neagos was transported to a Columbus area hospital. Police said her condition is unknown at this time.

Police said the investigation is ongoing, but preliminary information indicates April Neagos stabbed her father multiple times before stabbing herself.

According to police, the incident is still under investigation, and detectives will be formulating murder charges against April Neagos. The Ohio Bureau of Criminal Investigation is processing the scene.
