23-year-old Scott man dies in single-vehicle crash, police say
ST. LANDRY PARISH, La. (KLFY) -- A 23-year-old Scott man died in a single-vehicle crash Friday night in Opelousas, according to Louisiana State Police.
The crash, which was reported just after 10 p.m., claimed the life of Marquarious Solomon.
State police said in a news release that Solomon was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Impala south on U.S. 167 when the crash occurred.
"For reasons still under investigation, the Chevrolet exited the roadway to the right, entered a ditch, and overturned causing Solomon to be ejected," state police said in a news release.
Police said Solomon was unrestrained and was pronounced dead at the scene.
Routine toxicology samples were collected for analysis, police said.
