Coal imports rise by 6 pc to 75.26 MT in April-June

India's coal imports grew by 5.7% to 75.26 million tonnes in the first quarter of the fiscal year compared to the previous year. Non-coking and coking coal imports saw slight increases. However, a slowdown in activity during the monsoon might affect future demand. Domestic production increased by 11.71% in FY24.
