‘Clear winner’ scream Strictly fans as they’re convinced they know who’ll take the Glitterball as full lineup announced

STRICTLY Come Dancing fans reckon they’ve already pinpointed the winner of the 2024 series – before a star has even stepped foot on the dancefloor.

It came as the BBC show’s official celebrity line-up was revealed this week.

They believe the star’s performance background – as well as recognition as the Gio Compario character from the Go Compare advertisements – could seal the deal

Viewers of the sequin-studded, fake tan-filled series now insist Wynne Evans, 52, is a dance shoo-in for Strictly‘s Glitterball trophy.

This lies partly because the man – who many recognise best as the Go Compare singer in the brand’s TV adverts – has a background in performing arts.

The Celebrity MasterChef champ, 52, was announced as the fourth Strictly star during a chat on BBC Radio Two.

Talking of his new telly project he said: “I love the glitz, the glamour and all of that so I’m well up for it.”

“I can’t believe it because it’s all cloak and daggers,” he said.

“You go for an audition, then you’re given a code name which is my favourite part of the whole thing.”

The opera singer then said he is most looking forward to doing the waltz – but is dreading the jive.

Wynne said: “The stuff I’m more nervous about is doing something like the jive because I represent every portly middle-aged father who jumps and could set a minor tsunami off in North London.

“I’m kind of a bit nervous about that, but I’m taking inspiration from Bill Bailey.”

Yet many believe he doesn’t need to be fearful – tipping him for the trophy.

One took to Reddit to post he is a “clear winner” and put: “I think he’ll be surprisingly good, he’s a musician after all.

“He’ll be better than people expect. He’s trained / experienced in musical theatre.

“Was brilliant in the Phantom of the Opera concert! This cast is great so far.”

Who's confirmed for Strictly 2024?

WITH Strictly's 20th anniversary special airing in September, The Sun takes a look at which celebs have been confirmed so far:

A second gushed: “He was soo good on MasterChef! He strikes me as someone who is light on their feet…

“Okay, maybe some people might not know his name or recognise him without the moustache, but surely there’s not a single person in this country who doesn’t know the GoCompare man!”

A third then remarked: “So so happy about this! I adore Wynne, he’s hilarious on his Radio Wales show.

“I hope he’s not forced to miss too much of his show for training, I’ll miss him every day if so!”

Wynne Evans' career

Wynne has a background in performing arts.

He studied at Guildhall School of Music and Drama and the National Opera Studio as a youngster.

The star first appeared on stage at the Royal Opera House in 2009.

In 2011 he appeared in Andrew Lloyd Webber’s The Phantom of the Opera at the Royal Albert Hall.

Not only that he appeared in Vaughan Williams’ Serenade to Music on the night of 2001 BBC Proms and many more.

Wynne also has two studio albums.

Another mused: “Have a feeling he’s going to surprise us in a good way. Would love him to be paired with Dianne.”

It came after he revealed the secret to his six-stone weight loss before signing up.

The full Strictly Come Dancing has now been revealed – including stars from both Love Island and Towie.

Yet only six women have signed up following the show’s recent scandal – in a huge blow to the BBC.

It comes in the wake of pro dancer Graziano di Prima being sacked for abusing partner Zara McDermott.

Colleague Giovanni Pernice is also being investigated following similar complaints from his partner Amanda Abbington.
