‘Young back-up options’ – Journalist reveals what Spurs are planning next this transfer window

Tottenham have already signed four new players this summer, but they might not yet be done in the transfer window if one journalist is to be believed.

Four new signings for Spurs

Spurs have quietly had a very productive transfer window, managing to trim their wage bill by offloading a number of fringe players while also making some key additions in the areas where they needed to strengthen.

The Lilywhites have secured the services of Archie Gray and Dominic Solanke in big-money deals, while Wilson Odobert became the latest player to arrive through the door.

In addition, Spurs have also been boosted by the arrival of Lucas Bergvall, who linked up with the squad this summer after the North London club struck a deal for him back in January.

Tottenham also signed Yang Min-hyuk from the K-League, but he won’t join up with the squad until January 2025 once the Korean season comes to a close.

What next for Tottenham Hotspur?

BBC Sport journalist, Nizar Kinsella, has now reported that Tottenham’s summer transfer window is ‘pretty much sewn up’ but they may still look to sign a couple of youngsters in the coming weeks.

He wrote: “Wow, that’s a great signing [Odobert] for Tottenham. That’s pretty much their summer business sewn up apart from some young back up options.”

Spurs Web Opinion

I would be surprised if Tottenham looked to sign another attacking player following their capture of Wilson Odobert.

With the Frenchman being relatively inexpensive, I would not be surprised if Spurs now spent big on a top-class number eight in the final weeks of the window.

If they do only go for young back-up options then maybe a new left-back or left-centre-back.
